Welcome to Prekindle’s Reserved Seating 2.0! This guide will walk you through the key changes and new tools available in your dashboard, from managing seat maps to configuring pricing and seat assignments. Whether you're transitioning from the legacy reserved seating platform or starting fresh, here’s what you need to know.
Seating Chart Hub: Where to Find, Create, and Edit Maps
Preferences → Seating Charts
All seat maps live here: Both maps built on the legacy platform, static image maps, and Reserved Seating 2.0 (Seats.io) maps are now stored under the Seating Charts tab in your dashboard preferences.
Legacy Maps and Static Images: Still require updates via clients@prekindle.com — editing tools are not available for these in the dashboard. We will be transitioning entirely to the new platform, but understand some events and builds will still need legacy maps and static images for the time being.
Create New Maps: You can add new seat maps or copy existing ones directly from this tab.
Note: Edits cannot be made to maps that are already attached to an event. We recommend copying the map and making changes to the copy, and then contacting clients@prekindle.com to resycing the new map.
Creating an Event with a New Reserved Map
Event Creation Wizard → Use Template
After selecting the Use Template option in Step 1, choose “SeatsIO Seating Chart” when prompted.
You’ll then be able to select from any SeatsIO seat map that was created or added under Seating Charts in your Preferences.
After selecting your chart, click Start:
Complete Step 1
Click into Step 2- note that many of the options cannot be edited here and instead must be edited on the dashboard.
Fill out Step 3
Click Finish
From there, continue editing the event from your dashboard to:
Add price levels
Assign pricing
Place holds
Manage availability
Seat Map Attachment
Sales → Price Levels
To reference the chart that is connected to your event, you can look in the Sales; Price Levels tab.
Please DO NOT update the seat map to another seats.io seat map in the dropdown; if a new seat map is needed, contact clients@prekindle.com to sync the correct chart.
Seat Map Tools: Managing Holds, Kills, and Price Levels
Sales → Seats
While this view may look familiar, its function has shifted:
Still used for:
Downloading the manifest
Updating GA capacity
Setting max ticket purchase quantity
No longer used for:
Assigning price levels
Adding holds
Managing kills
These tools now live in the Event Manager (see below).
⚠️ Kills are Rate Limited: Pausing a section now counts as a "kill." You can only update kills a limited number of times per day. If you need to pause multiple sections, please contact clients@prekindle.com.
Sales → Seats → Event Manager
Meet your new command center.
The Event Manager is the newest and most powerful feature in Reserved Seating 2.0. Use it to:
Place holds
Assign price levels
Set kills and availability
