When working with general admission (GA) areas on reserved seating maps, it's important to ensure that your capacities are properly configured and in sync across both the Seats tab and the Event Manager in Prekindle’s Reserved Seating 2.0 platform. Below are best practices and important limitations to keep in mind:
Capacity Basics
Map Capacity is the Limit:
You cannot exceed the GA capacity built into your seating map. If you need to increase the capacity of a GA section beyond what's currently available, please contact clients@prekindle.com for assistance.Capacities Must Match:
The capacity listed in the Seats tab and the Event Manager (Kills tab) must always match. Inconsistencies can lead to ticketing issues or overselling.
How to Decrease Capacity
Update the Seats Tab:
Navigate to the Sales; Seats tabs of your event.
Click into the GA section you'd like to adjust.
Click Edit, and reduce the capacity to your desired number. Click Save.
- Adjust in the Event Manager
Go to the Sales; Seats tab and click into the Event Manager
Find the Kills tab within the Event Manager
Click into the section you’re adjusting.
Under Partially Not for Sale, enter the number of seats you want to remove from inventory.
Example: If the map capacity is 330 but you only want to sell 280, enter 50 as “Partially Not for Sale” and click confirmClick Apply Changes. NOTE: Kills are RATE LIMITED. This means you can only click the Apply Changes button 10 times per event per day in the kills tab.
How to Increase Capacity
Update the Seats Tab:
Navigate to the Sales; Seats tab.
Click into the appropriate GA section and select Edit.
Raise the capacity as needed — without exceeding the map limit. Click Save.
Adjust in the Event Manager :
Go to the Sales; Seats tab and click into the Event Manager
Find the Kills tab within the Event Manager
Click into the section you’re adjusting.
You can either:
Click Entirely for Sale to open all available seats, or
Adjust the Partially Not for Sale field to reflect the new remaining seat count.
Example: If you raised your capacity from 280 to 300, and your map allows 330, you’d enter 30as “Partially Not for Sale.”
Rate Limiting Reminder
The Event Manager’s Kills tab is rate limited to 10 updates per day. To avoid hitting this limit:
Make all desired updates across sections first.
Then save all changes at once, rather than updating one section at a time.
