If you are using your own Stripe account for credit card processing, you will need to enter your Stripe Secret Key, Stripe Publishable Key, and Statement Descriptor into your Prekindle Dashboard Preferences. Please note that if your account has already been approved, you will need to contact clients@prekindle.com to update your account. We also do not recommend that you switch merchant accounts while you are in the middle of selling tickets for an event, as it can complicate reporting.
Stripe Keys (Secret and Publishable)
- Log into your Stripe dashboard
- Make sure your account is in Live Mode. You can ensure this by turning off the switch to "View Test Data"
- Click Developers on the left
- Click API Keys on the left
- Look for the section marked Secret Key
- You may have to click a button to reveal the secret key
- It will look like this: sk_live_xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
- Look for the section marked Publishable Key
- You may have to click a button to reveal the secret key
- It will look like this: pk_live_xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Statement Descriptor
- Log into your Stripe dashboard
- Click Business Settings on the left
- Look to the right, under the section Public Information
- The statement descriptor will be listed there.
- Use the name for your business that your customers will recognize to help prevent unintended chargebacks.
You cannot update this information once the account has been approved so please send any updates to clients@prekindle.com.
